Shared book reading to boost children's language and literacy

Thanks to everyone who came along this morning to our Leeds Child Development workshop on shared book reading. Lots of fruitful discussions about how we can support children, families and practitioners to boost children’s language and literacy.

I began the workshop by asking practitioners what they enjoyed (and did not enjoy!) about shared book reading.

…we then discussed what the common barriers (and solutions) are around shared book reading

Cat Davies then talked about the important role that early years staff play in supporting the development of language and early literacy.
